Have You Seen This App? Hot or Not
When I first heard about this app, Hot or Not, I thought it was an entertainment app, you know, like when they ask Who wore it best and show two actresses wearing the same dress. Well, I was really wrong about what I thought, because this is actually a dating site that works through the app. While I am not looking for a date, I have been looking for new friends in our area for Fabgrandpa and I to go places with and hang out with. And there is an option to check that says you are here to “make new friends”, so I decided to check it out some.
Hot or Not is actually an online dating app. You can download it to your iPhone, your iPad, or your PC. You then can sign in with Facebook, and it pulls your date of birth, your hometown, and your photo, and matches you up with other people who are using the app who are in your age group and are nearby to you. The name Hot or Not comes from you being able to decide it you think the person you are viewing is hot, or not. Once you click on the X for NOT, you are taken to the next photo of the next person.

This guy looks like he might be fun to hang around with. He definitely displays a sense of humor in his photo. I can also tell that he is patriotic by the T-shirt he has on, and that he has nice smile (trust me on that. I blurred out his face for his privacy.) He is also in an appropriate age group for me, if I was looking for a date or a dance partner. If you click on the heart instead of the X, and that person also checks the heart on YOUR profile pic, then you are sent a link to get in touch with each other. Simple as that! While I don’t think this APP is really for me, all my single friends out there who would like to meet someone in their area and age group, should definitely give it a try. Download the mobile app app here. Check out Hot or Not on Facebook, too.
Hot or Not just released a new version of their app, and they want you to help get the word out about it. Whether you are new to Hot or Not, or a seasoned user of the app, you can enter to win a $1000 Sweepstakes! The prize is a $1000 Gift Card to the retailer of your choice. The winner will be announced on February 15, 2014!

Roof Tips: Preparing for Spring Hail
Hail causes millions of dollars in damages to homes across the nation every year. Hail is one of the elements Mother Nature is in control of, so while you can’t control hail from coming and doing damage to your home, you can help reduce the amount of damage that it does by having your home prepared for it. By weatherproofing your home against hail in advance, you could reduce the amount of any damage costs and insurance claims. Roofs are the elements of homes that are most susceptible to damage during a hailstorm, so paying particular attention to your roof and possible hazards to it are essential for protecting your home against a hailstorm. Read more from Kidd Roofing, a roofing company based in Austin, Texas, and how they can help you prepare for the potentially dangerous season ahead.
Trees
One of the most damaging elements of hail storms is that they have the tendency to knock down tree branches onto your home. Any low-lying tree branches or other tree branches that look like they could break should be cut back and removed. Doing this regularly can help ensure that when a hailstorm does hit, you aren’t caught off guard and having to deal with tree branches that have needed to be cut falling onto your roof and causing damage. Because hail is denser than rain and lands with more force than rain, it is more likely to crack tree branches, making them fall. Getting rid of tree branches that could damage your home in the event of a hailstorm can greatly reduce your risk of incurring damages.
Roofs
Make sure that your roof is in optimum condition at all times. Repair any places that are already damaged, and repair places that look like they could potentially damage. Problems areas that look susceptible and fragile to damage should be repaired as soon as possible to minimize the effects of any other damages that occur. Plus, repairing damages in small increments can be more affordable and hassle-free than repairing many damages all at once. Another measure that you might want to take to protect your roof is to consider installing shingles that have been rated as Class 3 or 4 shingles. These types of shingles are built sturdier so that they can withstand harsher hail damage. Alternatively, homeowners might want to consider installing polymer roofs on their homes. Roofs constructed of polymer are made to withstand hail and other elements. Plus, they are even fire retardant and feature UV stabilizers.
Determining the type of roof that you have can also affect how well your roof can withstand any hail damage. Hail can sometimes be the precedent for worse weather like a tornado or strong winds. Triangular-shaped roofs are considered to be the weakest types of roofs for maintaining their structure against strong winds. These types of roofs might need to be reinforced to make them more prepared for any upcoming storms. Reinforcing a roof can be done by simply using a few two-by-four pieces of wood to add more structure to a faulty roof. Many homeowners can reinforce their roofs themselves. However, others might not feel comfortable or skillful enough to do so and might want to consider hiring the services of professional roofers to do the tasks for them.
Although nature’s elements are beyond your control, preparing your home for them is not. By examining your roof and yard for any potential problem areas and addressing them, you can make your home more prepared for hailstorms and minimize any potential damages.

Safari Suggestions For My Friends Who Travel To The African Continent
I am always in awe of my friend, Gaelyn, who lives in Arizona. She is a park ranger at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon in spring and summer, and has a background in geology. She is not afraid to travel alone, and has gone to South Africa several times to explore the national parks there, as well as the geology of the area. She takes some of the most beautiful photographs of the animals and scenery there.

If I could pick an iteniary for her next trip, I would suggest Safaris in Namibia:
There are many Safaris in Namibia that will take someone like my friend, who is interested in geology, days to explore. Starting in the northern part of Namibia, there are the Skeleton Coast and the Kaokaland, which is extremely remote. The desert landscapes are vast . They give the impression of utter wilderness, much like areas in northern Arizona. She would be right at home there.

The Southwest of Namibia has some of the most striking desert views in the world, so anyone who is thinking of taking a trip to this country should definitely include a couple of days to a week to explore them. Visitors to this area arrive pre-dawn via a drive through the valley, which is bordered on both sides by huge dunes. The trip is not complete without a hike around Sossusvlei with a climb up one of the largest dunes.

North Central Namibia is home to the Etosha National Park, where you will find extensive grasslands, evaporation pans, and large numbers of exotic wildlife. One drawback to this area, though, is that it is one of the more popular areas to visit so you will have lots of traffic and more people to contend with.
In Southern Namibia you will find the Fish River Canyon, pictures of which remind me of southern Utah in the United States. There are impressive geologic features and the area is home to herds of wild horses.
With so many vistas and areas to visit, you could spend a month or more and not see it all. That, of course, would mean coming back again and again. I would never be bored with travels to Namibia.
What Comes With a Roof Inspection Report
For those who are looking to sell a home, a roof inspection report is a necessity depending on the state and laws they enforce. In other states, it is not required but it is beneficial to have one on file for a number of reason. One of the reasons would be that the new home owner would have peace of mind, knowing that the roof has been inspected and properly maintained. Another reason to get a roof inspection is that a roof inspection is beneficial because a roof that is properly certified is going to increase the value of the home and makes it easier to sell. For the buyer, it is important to know if there are any problems with the roof that are going to be an issue in the near term. So what should be inclued in a roof inspection report for a single family home? In a typical roof inspection report, there will be information about the home itself, including the type of property, square footage and the age of the home. This is usually included on the cover page, along with information about the date and the time of the inspection. The inspector information should also be included to give more credibility to the report. To learn more about roof inspections reports visit The Roof Doctor. Most roof inspection reports are going to include a history of the roof, including any recent damage that may have required some repair. If there were leaks that were noted during that time, it will also be included in the report. The current condition of the roof will be stated in a separate section of the report. In many cases, the contractor who did any work on the roof on prior occasions is going to be interviewed and any active issues with the roof are going to be listed at this point. Finally, you will have information about the workmanship of the roof. This will include the materials that were used and information about the installation of those materials. Ordering a roof inspections report is beneficial to not only the buyer of the house but also the seller. Knowing this information before buying a home could save you thousands of dollars, so make sure that you request a roof inspection report before you purchase a home.
