I love that it will adhere to any surface, but you can take it off with ease. It would have been a great product to have in the RV, as the refrigerator had a wooden front so no magnets would stick to it. This product would stick to that fridge!

The Holiday Table: Wounded Warrior Project

If you are contemplating donating to a charitable organization this holiday season, one I proudly support and stand behind is The Wounded Warrior Project. For ten years they have been on a mission to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members. They work to help injured service members aid and assist each other. And they strive to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.

They do so much to help military men and women who have been wounded in battle to not only mend their bodies, but to also help them transition back into civilian life. They help with coping skills to overcome combat stress; provide family support; offer a peer mentor program to help warrior’s with adjustment and to move forward with their lives. This is just a small part of what they do, and they need your donations to help do it.

The Wounded Warrior Project uses 81.6 percent of total expenditures to provide services and programs for Wounded Warriors and their families. That is a very good use of funds for a charity. Santa Claus Christmas Store has so many cute and useful Christmas items from which to choose, it was really hard for me to decide what to get. I finally chose this adorable Sweet Santa Teapot:

Let Santa brew your tea, or hold hot water for instant hot chocolate. He’ll be there waiting for you when you come in out of the cold.

I also like the Winter Greetings Hurricane Candle. It makes a very pretty table centerpiece, but would also come in handy if the power goes out. Just light the candle.

What To Do With Leftover Turkey

After the Thanksgiving meal is over, we all end up with way more leftovers than we want or need. We are all usually looking for something to make that leftover turkey taste like something new. Here is a roundup of recipes from my blogging friends to help you find a tasty way to do over your left over turkey:

I don’t like turkey much myself, so I usually cook a chicken for the holidays. Nevertheless, you can use leftover turkey in this recipe for a Chef Salad With A Twist: (Click on the name of the photo to see the recipes)

Sheri, of Kidsumers,up in Canada has already had her Thanksgiving day. She gave me this recipe for Turkey Brie Bites, a yummy appetizer for after Thanksgiving get togethers. Cranberry Sauce and brie? Yes, please. Use your favorite gluten free crackers to make these.

Sheri’s version of a turkey sandwich, the Turkey Caesar Wrap, is different and easy to make too. These can be made gluten free with a gluten free plain flour tortilla.

Alison from Being Alison, lives in New York. She told me about her Turkey, Cheese & Avocado Sandwich. It does look really good!

Around West Georgia: Christmas Candlelight Concert Still Needs Participants

Do you like to sing? Want to be a part of a community choir program?

The Rome-Floyd Visitor Center and the Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau are still looking for participants for the Fourth Biennial Christmas Candlelight Concert at the Forum in historic Downtown Rome. This free concert will take place Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 at 7:00 p.m., and is sponsored by the Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau, Rome’s Own Musical Ensembles (R.O.M.E.) and the Forum.

The concert will feature an en mass choir comprised of community, school, church groups and individuals accompanied by a large orchestra led by Sam Baltzer. Doug Walker of the Rome News-Tribune will present the traditional Christmas story from the book of Luke and WRGA’s Nelle Reagan will read One Solitary Life. The program will also feature several soloists.

The concert in 2011 drew a crowd of approximately 2,500 people from around Northwest Georgia.

All choirs and individuals from high school age and up are invited to participate in this non-denominational community event. Traditional Christmas music is sung in response to the reading of the birth of Jesus.

Choir members are asked to wear a solid bright-colored turtleneck and black slacks/skirts.

I have known about Pompeian Olive Oil for what seems like forever, but did you know they also produce Grape Seed Oil? I was surprised to find this out. Back when I used to make soap, I always added grape seed oil in to the recipe because it was said to be good for your skin. This Pompeian Grapeseed Oil is good source of Vitamin E and antioxidants, has a higher smoke point than olive oil, and because of its high fluidity, it reduces excess oil from absorbing into the food. What means is that you get less oil IN your food that is cooked in it.

I used the Pompeian Grapeseed Oil Spray on my frozen roasted sweet potatoes and brussels sprouts before popping them in the oven.
