I hadn’t see my daughter, Becca, since 2012, when she came from Calgary to take care of me when I came home from the hospital in Flagstaff. When she told me she was coming to visit, I was so happy! They were in Georgia for about 12 days, but only on our side of town for about 4 of those days. They visited Ken’s family, and took a short vacation to Savannah before coming here.

We didn’t do a whole lot of stuff together. On the first night here, I cooked a big fat hen, made my famous potato salad, and roasted some asparagus. It was just enough food, and boy was it ever delicious.

On the second night, Becca, Ken, Fabgrandpa, and I drove the 50 miles or so to Austell, GA to Wallace’s Barbecue to meet up with the rest of the family. We had a table for 14! I was a happy Fabgrandma to have all my children and all of my grandchildren together. Well, except for Rafe, Becky’s husband, who was at home babysitting an appliance repair person at their new house, and Sarah, my granddaughter, who lives in Tennessee.

Our time together was over way too soon, but they say they are coming back next spring. I can hardly wait!
