I am asked to review snack bars frequently. While all of the ones I review are gluten free, these new bars from Mediterra Nutrition have something none of the others have: Vegetables and savory flavors inside.

Inspired by the Mediterranean Diet, the Black Olive & Walnuts bar includes olives and walnuts, which contain vitamins, antioxidants and minerals essential for building and sustaining strength. They also contain a dash of green pepper, a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, protein-rich pea crisps, and chives. With just 170 calories, 17 g of carbohydrate, and 6 g protein, these bars are as good for you as they taste.
My favorite is the Sun Dried Tomato & Basil Savory bar. Ingredients include aromatic basil, piquant capers, protein-rich pea crisps, a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, and a dusting of crushed cashews. Packed with flavor, it has only 160 calories, 18 g of carbohydrate, and 6 g of protein.
Other flavors include Sesame Energy Bar with Orange & Honey; Sesame Energy Bar with Pistachio & Honey; Yogurt & Oat Bar with Cherry & Pistachio; and Yogurt & Oat Bar with Apricot & Pistachio.
