A Mother’s Nightmare

I got that call in the middle of the night that we all as mothers dread. My daughter’s father in law called to tell me that she had passed out, and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. I thanked him or calling and asked him to call me Ian’s soon as they heard anything from Thomas, my son-in-law.

The call was about an hour later. She has had a stroke, possibly caused by a blood clot from the Ceasarean surgery ten days ago when the baby was born. Fabgrandpa nd I got up and dressed and drove to Atlanta to be there with Thwhile to wait for the doctor to kelt us know what is going to happen next. We have been here for five hours now and still waiting.

If you pray, or send healing thoughts, or send good vibes, or whatever it is that you do, please do it for Emily and her family now.

I’ll update when I know more.

My Seester, I know God doesn’t give us more than we can handle, but it seems that your family has had more than it’s share of events to work through. I have notified all of my praying peeps to be in prayer for Emily. I know God will hear our prayers. <3

I am so sorry to hear this. I hope she recovers fully. I can tell you this, when my kidneys failed a couple years ago…I called my mother from the hospital. She’d had kidney failure, so she knew the sadness I was going through. I told her not to worry about coming to see me as the drive would be too much for her and that I’d let her know how things were progressing. The next morning there she was, in my room, when I woke up. I had all my family there with me, and even though they were all there, to see mom there making sure I was okay brought tears to my eyes. I’m sure when she sees you she’ll feel the same. It helps with the healing, I’m positive!

My thoughts and prayers are with her and your family.

    Karen,
I am so sorry that the joy you have in your new grandson has been marred by your daughter’s stroke. My prayer is that she has been slowed down, just for the moment, to rest up for the rest of her trip in life to raise her son. May all of our thoughts and prayers be with you and your family both now and in the coming days as you watch over your family. May all of your friends’ strengths combine to bolster you and yours. Your “other” family of RVers and blog readers is very much here for you!
