When was the last time you had a slow, boring weekend? Yes, that is a rhetorical question as most of us who are in lockdown can’t even tell the difference between the weekend and a weekday anymore. Okay, so it’s not a perfect time to enjoy our homes but at least, you can do some cleaning tasks that you would always put off. The cleaning tasks that we talking about, aren’t going to be too difficult or boring. Instead, we want you to explore your home as you clean it, so some odd jobs that you’d never think of doing will be getting done this weekend!
Cleaning Shingles
Shingles are made out of a flexible form of tar and glass fibers. It makes them tough and rugged, able to weather any storm. However, it also makes them an absolute magnet for dirt and debris. The small little indents in the shingles are on a minute scale, which makes them hard to clean and they discolor easily as a result. But, you can fix this by cleaning them with a bucket of bleach, hot water and soap granules. Use a spray cleaner to get rid of the top layer of dirt. Use a scrub brush to go over the shingles while still wet. Use a broom to wipe away anything that has been dislodged. Then wash it again with the spray cleaner. Job done.

Dreadful Gutters
Cleaning gutters is sometimes more trouble than it’s worth. It’s easy to surrender to the job ahead but we think that if you had a simpler system you could actually enjoy cleaning them. The first job is to wait for a day where there will be no rain and it should not have rained the night before. Next, use rubber gloves to push the leaves and debris all to two sides of the home. Then simply throw all the debris on the floor, being careful to not drop bits of loose tile, shingle or moss balls onto someone else. Then spray the gutters down with hot water and use a bleach scrub to give it a good cleanse. You can also spray a PVC finisher onto the gutters to make them less sticky for when it comes time to clean them again.
Washing WAindows
On the surface, it seems as if washing windows is perfectly fine to do on your own. But when it comes to the first floor, it can be daunting. Not everyone is comfortable with heights and removing water stains properly is also deceptively difficult. So a Window Cleaning team would be the right choice, as they have their specific solutions for removing stains and not damaging the frame or scratching the window. They’ll also use a streak-free formula and remove cobwebs that cause a nuisance. The window sill will be cleaned so no specs of dirt can be thrust onto the window.
Don’t tell us you don’t have the time to do these things this weekend; we see you! It won’t take long, so go on, plan a day to clean the exterior of your home and give it a brand new smile.
