America is a vast country with plenty of amazing states to explore. And each state is like a country in itself, so it can be hard to choose destinations to visit in this ginormous place. America is a city with plenty of famous cities, so you definitely have a lot of options. Still, that doesn’t have to deter you from taking a trip to see some of the fantastic locations that the U.S. has to offer. With that in mind, these are some of the best American cities to visit if you’re planning a trip across the States.

New York City, New York.

This wouldn’t be a travel article about the beautiful U.S. if we didn’t start by talking about New York City. It is, perhaps, the most famous city in the entire country. This is partly due to the fact that it’s been featured in magazines, films, and songs for decades. Everybody recognizes the iconic sights of this wonderful place. For starters, you need to visit Central Park. Even if you’re not a fan of the many Hollywood blockbusters that have featured this iconic park, it’s still a beautiful little drop of paradise amidst a sea of concrete skyscrapers. It’s a very relaxing and stunning place to visit. You should also see the Empire State Building. It might no longer be the tallest structure in NYC, but it’s still an architectural marvel. Plus, admiring the city from the viewing platform at the top of this skyscraper is a breathtaking experience.

Of course, New York has more to offer than its iconic landmarks. If you really want to appreciate this stunning city, you should visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This museum is celebrated internationally for its extensive collection of stunning exhibits. It showcases fantastic art pieces and even antiques from Ancient Egypt. The Met Museum is unlike any other in the world, let alone any other museum in America. So, if you’re going to visit New York City, then this museum should be at the very top of your “Must See” list. But if you still have a craving for iconic New York landmarks, then you should find the time to see the Statue of Liberty, too. This statue is structurally and artistically impressive, but it’s also culturally significant to this magnificent city.

Los Angeles, California.

Los Angeles is another beautiful city that you should plan on visiting if you’re going to explore the U.S. It’s a city like no other. Obviously, L.A. is famous for Hollywood, so you should start by exploring that unique place. Seeing behind the veil of Hollywood productions is a bizarre experience, but it’s one that’ll truly open your eyes to the magic of this place. Or, at the very least, it’ll open your eyes to the magic required to make films look good in post-production. A tour of the Warner Brothers Studio will show you how beloved films took shape. It’ll really help you to appreciate the sheer amount of work that goes into creating movies, too.

Of course, L.A. has more to offer than Hollywood magic. You should explore the Venice area if you get a chance. You’ll be treated to a beautiful and iconic boardwalk by the beach. There are shops selling all kinds of quirky L.A.-related merch and delicious restaurants if you get hungry. But you should head into downtown L.A. if you’re looking for the best food in the city. Grand Central Marketplace has plenty of great dining establishments. Olio’s Pizzeria, in particular, offers some of the best wood-fired pizzas in the city. They might even sell the best pizzas in the entire state. Anyway, if you’re looking for one of the best American cities to visit, Los Angeles is one of them.

The iconic Golden Gate Bridge is the pride of San Francisco. Tourists flock from all over the world to see, walk across, and photograph this majestic structure.

Atlantic City, New Jersey.

You should also visit Atlantic City in New Jersey if you’re looking for a unique destination to visit on your next trip. It might not have the same “name power” as New York City or Los Angeles, but that doesn’t take away from the amazing things that this destination has to offer. Entertainment-wise, Atlantic City is an exciting place to visit. Every city has shopping malls, but Atlantic City does shopping malls in its own way. You should visit the Playground Pier. This is an underwater-themed shopping mall on the Million Dollar Pier. There are four floors, and each is themed in a unique and intriguing way. But Atlantic City has more to offer than just that. You might want to visit the Borgata Hotel and Casino. Even if you’re not a gambling pro, you could have some fun playing Blackjack or just relax in a luxurious hotel room. The point is that this is a very exciting city. If you’re a fan of Monopoly, then you’ll also enjoy seeing all of the streets in real life; the U.S. version of the board game is set in Atlantic City.

San Francisco, California.

Finally, don’t forget to visit the beautiful and sunny city of San Francisco if you want to get the full Californian experience. Los Angeles is a wonderful city, and there’s no doubt about that, but it’s also a very lively city. You might be looking for a more peaceful trip. Well, San Francisco showcases the peaceful and gentle side of California. You can take cable cars around the city, and those are a lot of fun when you’re cruising up and down steep hills. You should also visit Alcatraz Island. It’s not just a fascinating place in terms of the island’s history (it was used as both a prison and a fort to defend the city); it’s also a fascinating place in terms of the ecosystem that’s developed there. It’s intriguing that an island with such a mixed history is now home to beautiful gardens and breathtaking animals.

These are my choices for the four best American cities to visit. What are yours?
