I needed to take a bit of time away to get some things done. So, you might ask, what did I accomplish in my absence? Well, let’s see.

I made a real life friend. Ok, that has been going on for several months. Fabgrandpa and I looked forever to find someone to clean our house for us. We asked at local places every time we went out to eat if anyone knew of anyone who cleaned houses. Finally, one day, this nice lady called and talked to me, and said she would come over to take a look at our house to see if she could add us to her calendar. I guess she wanted to see if we were hoarders, or ax murderers, or something. Anyway, she came over, looked at the house, chatted with us for about an hour, and started the next week coming once a month to deep clean the messes we make. In the course of all this, we discovered that she only lives about a half mile away, and she is such a fun and happy person. We have started hanging out with her and her husband some, going out to eat, and such as that. It is so nice to have a friend in the real world. I have really missed that.

My new friend, Reatha, and I, had a yard sale. It was at her house. My grandson, Michael, came over and helped me pack stuff up and carry it out to the car, and then unload the car at Reatha’s house. The next two days Reatha and I sat out there in the awful heat to hold our yard sale. We only had about four customers, and I only made about $35, but it was fun. I left all my stuff over at her house, and we are going to do it again at the end of September to see if we can move any of the rest of the junk, I mean treasures, that we are trying to sell.

I started sewing again. It is not easy for me to sit in there due to the disability that I have, but I am pushing myself to do it because, well, it makes me happy to actually accomplish something. So far, I have added ruffles to two pairs of Amelia’s pants, and almost finished a case for my diabetes supplies. I wanted something that is prettier than the plain old black case that came with my glucose meter, and that holds more than that little one does. I’ll post a picture when it is finished.

Fabgrandpa and I are still going to the gym. When we started out, I was only walking three minutes on the tread mill, and trying to do some of the weight machines to work my arms, shoulders, upper back, and legs. At this point, we are going more than our three times a week goal, and I am up to walking five minutes on the treadmill, riding the bicycle for 10 minutes, and doing 10 reps on the weight machines. I can feel the change in my body, and I have to tell you, it feels good. I have not lost any weight to speak of, but I am told that when you build muscle, it weighs more than fat, so that is probably what is happening.
Fabgrandpa and I have been purposely been trying to get out of the house and GO SOMEWHERE every week, even if it is just to a nearby town we have never been to, and shopping in the thrift stores. I have pictures and stories to tell about that, but just haven’t gotten around to it yet.
So, that is about it. I didn’t go away for good, or for bad, just for a bit. I have some sponsored posts to write too. There will be a couple of really nice giveaways coming up in the next week. And, on Thursday of this week, I will be going to my first ever blogger conference. It is a small one, only about thirty bloggers in all will attend. It is called Brandcation, The Final Destination. It will be in Destin, Florida, and will actually be the last one of the series. I am so glad that I am getting to go. I have to give a big big thank you to Trisha, for holding a contest to give away a ticket to the event, because I won that ticket!

Good to see you two getting out and about and glad you’ve made new friends. Hope the yard sale goes better in Sept.
