This Is Where I Leave You

“This Is Where I Leave You” opens on September 19, 2014. The movie is based on a novel by the same name by Jonathan Tropper. The movie stars Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Adam Driver, Rose Byrne, Corey Stoll, Kathryn Hahn, Connie Britton, Timothy Olyphant, Dax Shepard and Jane Fonda. I’m glad to see Adam Driver in a movie role, as I really loved him in his  “Girls” role.

The movie is about four adult siblings, whose father passes away,  and requires them to live together under one roof for one week, along with their mother and an assortment of spouses and others, in order to gain access to their inheritance. The resulting confrontations of their  history and the frayed states of their relationships among the people who know and love them best, causes them to reconnect in hysterical and emotionally affecting ways amid the chaos, humor, heartache and redemption that only families can provide—driving us insane even as they remind us of our truest, and often best, selves.

Stories like this hit so close to home for me, as whenever our family gets together it is only a matter of time before someone is getting their feelings hurt, or someone is fighting. But, before we leave our mothers house, we make up and love each other again.

Don’t miss this movie. Just the list of actors starring in it is an indication of an Oscar winner to me.
