WE noticed the bees on the porch a couple of weeks ago. Actually, it was my grandson, Owen, who first noticed them. My son and his family were staying with us for a week after he retired from the Air Force. Owen was pointing to the bees and saying they were going in the hole.

We didn’t think much of it, because surely they weren’t nesting in there, right? Wrong. Today, Fabgrandpa moved a box in the bedroom, and saw bees in there, literally coming out of the woodwork.

They were making a mess in there. Worse than that, they were IN MY BEDROOM. I do not want to sleep with bees in my bedroom, buzzing around. A fly is bad enough, but these things, they sting!.
So, right away I got on the phone and called Price Pest Control in Bremen. James said he would be right out, in about 2 hours. He was there quicker than that.

This guy is fearless. He did not put on a “bee suit” or anything, except for rubber gloves. He started off spraying a powder on the bees that were buzzing around outside the hole. Then, he sprayed the stuff inside the hole. When he did that, boy, howdy! Did the beez start coming out! He was just swatting at them with a towel. I stayed in the house.

Yes, my window is that dirty. And no, I did not wash them today either. The pest control guy then came in the house and sprayed some bee killer stuff into the little hole in the bedroom wall. He said all the bees, or yellow jackets actually, should be dead in three or four days. I hope so. I do not like yellow jackets.
Wasps are awful! Glad nobody got stung.
Glad you got them taken care of!
Oh, no! Sounds like you caught them before they got too comfortable. They are so aggressive setting up nests. Yuck!
OMG! I thought my pest guy was brave when he didn’t wear any protection to spray the ones OUTSIDE my house. James sounds like a great guy to call for an emergency!
I’m so glad you got that taken care of! I wouldn’t have been able to sleep either knowing there were bees in my room. Who knew that bees like to dine on houses?!?!
Ohmygoodness! I had no idea they would burrow into the wall. Eeeeks scary. Glad you got that taken care of. I wonder how many times that dude has been stung LOL
I’m allergic to wasps so I would not be happy with them in my house! Glad you got them taken care of before anyone was stung.
Wow glad you got them taken care of.
Oh my word. I would have ben FREAKING out. I’m glad you’re okay! (Did ya get some good honey?!) 😉
That’s CRAZY! I didn’t know bees could chew through wood!
We found a HUGE wasp nest inside our old house when we put new siding on it. It had to have been there to years and years it was like 4′ tall and 18″ wide. Part of it was dead, but part of it had wasps in it. That was no fun but thankfully we never had any in the house.
That’s wild! I’ve never heard of bees living inside of a house walls before!
Oh no! Yellow jackets are horrible! I had no idea they tried to nest in homes like that. I’m glad you’re getting rid of them and hopefully no one will be stung in the meantime.
How awesome is that? It sounds like James really knew what he was doing. I would have moved out until they were all gone, dead or alive. Eek! :\
Ugh, we always get hornets around here and they drive me nuts. The regular honey bees are awesome to have around our house and they don’t bother anyone, but those hornets…. blech. Glad you got them taken care of.
Wow! That is super scary! I’m glad you had it all taken care of your your grandson nver got stung!
Oh wow that got out of hand quick. Glad you’ve taken care of it.
It’s a good thing you caught it when you did. Think of how many more bees there could have been! Glad you got it taken care of.
ACK! That would scare me, but it would TERRIFY my husband who is allergic to bees. He’d probably want to sell the house! lol I hope your bees are all dead ASAP!
