When I was young, I never thought about what it would be like to get old. I never actually thought that I would be old. But one day I woke up, and there was this old lady looking at me from my mirror. How in the heck did that happen? I’m not ready for it. Then one day, another unthinkable thing happened to me: I became disabled. Disabled. Me. Now, everyday, I have to think about what might happen if something happened to my husband, and I was suddenly living alone. Premier Care walk-in bathtubs can help with one aspect of that uncertainty.
There are many things that I can not do, so those are scary thoughts for me. Unfortunately, they are very real things that my husband and I have to think about. One of the things that is really hard for me to do is get into and out of the bathtub. I have looked at the walk-in bathtubs from Premier Care, and I think that would be a really good choice for me. I especially like the walk-in shower, because it would allow me to enter and leave without help.
Premier Care In Bathing is America’s leader in walk-in tubs. All of their products are backed by their Premier Care Promise: They guarantee all of their products and workmanship unconditionally during your first full year of ownership. Most of Premier Care’s Walk-In Baths are installed in one to two days. Their contractors are always clean and courteous, going over every detail to make sure you’re completely satisfied with your new Walk-In Bath.
I already have an adjustable bed, that makes it easier for me to get in and out of bed. I’ve been using a shower chair for a couple of years now, too. But the really hard part is getting my legs up high enough to get in the tub to take a shower. I have to have help, so what if there was no one around?
Fabgrandpa and I have been discussing remodeling our bathroom, and getting a walk-in shower with a handicap seat built in. Premier Care also installs handicapped showers so they are number one on my list to call. Taking the obstacle of our regular bathtub out of my everyday life is just one less thing for me to worry about.

I really like those tub/shower designs. It’s very helpful for someone who is disabled or someone who needs an alternative design with more safety options.

Walk in tubs are such a great idea! I mean sure you can sit on one of those chairs when your in a bathtub, but how do some people think that you’d even be able to get in or out without falling?

I have always thought these were so cool. My parents are building a new house, and I think that this is definitely something they need to look into. Thanks for sharing, Karen.

Since my husband had his hip replacement this is something we will need to consider in the near future too, especially the walk in baths so a great idea.

This is such a great post and a great topic. Being younger, at this point, this isn’t something that I feel that I need to look into personally. But as my parents are getting a little older, this is something to think about.

I am also wondering where that old lady in the mirror came from–she looks familiar–but–There are days when it is difficult for me to get down in the bathtub –up out of it can be really difficult-and I live alone! I have been eying these walk in tubs-it would be a lot safer for me.

These are awesome. I have been telling my mom for awhile to look into these because she is handicapped and it would make bathing so much less of a chore. When I own my own place I plan on making my bathroom handicapped accessible since I know I will need it to be that way in the future.

I think it would be neat if newer homes were built with those in them.
