This weekend was pretty fun. We started out on Friday with Mama going home from rehab. She was so excited to be leaving that place, she called me about 9:30 in the morning to tell me again. She had already told me the day before, she just needed to hear herself say it again.
My ex-daughter-in-law sent me a gorgeous photo of my granddaughter, Sarah, all dressed up for her school homecoming dance. She looks a lot like her Dad in this pic, but boy is she ever a beautiful young lady. (and yes, I AM biased about that.)
On Saturday, we drove over to Douglasville to visit Mama at home. On the way back, we stopped by Midway Methodist Church near her house. They are having their annual Pumpkin Patch fundraiser, and I wanted to get some sugar pumpkins to put in the freezer. I got ten of them for $10. I’m cooking them and freezing the “meat” for pies and side dishes this winter.
On Sunday, Emily, Spencer and Parker came to visit and make some Halloween crafts with me. We had the best time, and of course I got some hugs and slobber baby kisses from Parker. He is getting to have so much personality, and trying so hard to crawl. He has one tooth now, and weighs 23 pounds.
My daughter in law Sarah and son Seth took the kids to the National Zoo this weekend. They were treated to a view of the Panda bears laying out in the sun. Sarah said she has lived in Washington for six years now and this is the first time they have been to the zoo when the Pandas were outside. Amelia did not want to leave to come home. Here is her sad face in the car:
We’re looking forward to next weekend, when there will be a community wide yard sale. I don’t know if I will have the energy to gather my stuff up to have my own sale, but if I get a chance I love looking at other people’s junk. Maybe I can find a treasure for myself.

Such a wonderful family weekend of fun. Sarah is growing into a gorgeous young woman. And how wonderful that your Mama has returned to her own home. Good luck treasure hunting.
