National Take Your Parents To Lunch Day

Did you know that there is a National Take Your Parents To Lunch Day? I didn’t know that either, but there is. It isn’t until October 16, but I have a very good reason to tell you about it today. Rudi’s Organic Bakery is celebrating National Take Your Parents to Lunch Day  to help support healthy, active kids.

As part of the celebration Rudi’s is hosting a fun back-to-school Say Cheese Photo Contest from Aug. 1 through Sept. 15. Parents can submit photos of their children eating a yummy sandwich for the opportunity to win the grand prize of being featured in a Rudi’s ad and a $500.00 Whole Foods gift card! In addition, fans can enter for weekly prizes like iPad Minis, Amazon gift cards, and North Face backpacks on the Say Cheese Microsite and can download a $1 off coupon for Rudi’s Gluten-Free products. Thats some good reasons to take part in the contest. Even if you don’t win the grand prize, you will get a $1.00 off coupon for some good tasting Rudi’s products.     I love that my kids are learning when they go back to school and as much as I love them, I don’t have to worry for a few hours a day about where they are while I’m working.

    With having four kids home with me during the Summer, trying to run errands such as going to the grocery store or just plain old shopping is horrible. I’m looking forward to my quiet time again 🙂

    I like that the kids have homework and books to occupy some of their spare time and that their natural curiosity comes out as they learn throughout the school year. The kids enjoy getting new shoes and meeting their new teacher.

    You can get things done during the day, run errands etc. Some days you’d like to have them home but it makes some days easier when they’re at school. Love seeing what they’re learning, what they bring home with them and to hear them talk about their day too.

    I really don’t “like” for them to go back to school, but I guess what I like best, is when they come home. My youngest is a Sr and oldest is 30. I think this is the 1st year I haven’t cried when they went to school. (Do I sound sappy?)

    I like the almost peace and quiet. My daughter goes to public school but I Home school my son so the arguing is replaced with non stop talking.
