5 Things You Would Learn About Me

…if you walked through my house. Ok, so the very first thing you would learn is that I am very messy–and that I like to keep a craft project of some kind close at hand. You can see my bag of yarn for my current crochet project here on the dinette seat where I sit most of the time:

Yes, I am messy. I admit it. But I need everything that is there to be there.

If you turned around from that messy dinette seat, you would find the biggest honking coffee maker that we could find. Even though we live in a less than 400 square foot home, we have a huge Krups coffee maker that also makes espresso. Gotta have coffee, you know.

Bigger than a breadbox, but it is still making coffee 8 years later.

As you step away from the coffee maker, you will see that we have two refrigerators. That wooden door is the main fridge, and that black dorm size one, well, it holds the beer and wine.

One for eggs, butter and veggies–one for beer and wine.

In the bedroom, you will see that my bed is made up every day. I can not stand to get into a bed that has not been made. Also, I am afraid that spiders will get in my bed if it is not made up. You will also see that I went a little wild with the green and brown makeover of the bedroom. I like it though.

I made the quilt, the pillows, the curtains, and recovered the cornice board.

And, if God forbid you open my closet, you will find it to be packed with too much stuff in it. But you will also see my uniforms hanging there, ready for me to wear when I go back to work. I love working at the Grand Canyon, and I love wearing that uniform. Go green and gray!

Yep, my uniforms all hung up in there since May

So…spiders cannot get UNDER the covers? This is total news to me.

I agree – is that a tall tale – or is it true that spiders don’t crawl under covers??

Also, I love the brown and green. Very woodsy 😉

Rachel, see above. I have to have this fantasy so I won’t worry about spiders ALL THE TIME.

Eeeekkkk. Spiders in the bed. I will start making my bed every morning. I wont be able to get that thought out of my head. Oh, I need to tell Alan I want a separate fridge for wine—good idea!

Wow I love the quilt and covers you made, pretty! My bed must be made as soon as my feet hit the floor. It also drives me insane to get into a messy bed.

I wish I made my bed up every day. You’d think spiders would convince me. Not. Too many other important things to do (such as quilting) to worry about the bed. 🙂

Wow! You, Fab Grandma, are a woman after my own heart! A fridge just for wine and beer?! Oh be still my beating heart!

I love that you keep your crafts (and your coffee maker) close at hand. And your bedroom is very pretty. Isn’t it funny how we can be cluttered in some areas but neat in others? It just all depends on what we need to do, I guess.

When I took my pictures, I focused on items alone, basically. My surfaces tend to collect stuff. 😉 I also like your neat little uniforms all in a row – my closet is beyond belief. It’s been fun getting to meet everyone, hasn’t it. I’ll be back again to see what you’re up to. This is my first time here. I’m a Grandma, too, so perked up when I saw your name. See ya ’round!

I almost pictured my 4 foot frig in my post but then I was going to have to add that my big one broke last week and we are living out of the 4 footer until the new one arrives. I like your bedroom colors too and I completely understand the need for your big coffee maker. 🙂

I love my Krups, though not that big and I really love the brown and green in the bedroom. But when it comes to making the bed, other than pulling up the covers in a haphazard way, why bother as I’m just going to mess it up again any way. 😉 Mine is the spare freezer to store ice cream. You’ll be back in those uniforms soon.

Just love your place!! Looks homey to me!! I am SO impressed with your quilt and all the accessories too!! Did you make the quilt THERE or in some other place? You do live in a beautiful spot right now.
We have way too many spiders here (NC) too…so yep, I keep the covers up on ours too…messy as I am otherwise. Hubby calls me the “stacker” cause there are stacks here and there in every room. I HOPE to get more organized but it is so hard!!

Oh how I hate spiders! My poor son has been woken up by them three nights in a row, they keep crawling on his feet and once on his face!!!! We tore his room apart today and it is CLEAN so I hope there will be no more spiders waking him up! I love that you have a fridge just for wine and beer, have you ever done any drunken crocheting? It can be fun 🙂

We have a separate fridge for beer and soda too. It’s a lifesaver, or we’d never have any food in our main fridge! And don’t worry about the spiders. They won’t go in your bed when they can just hang out in your shoes instead… 😉

If that bedroom set is representative of your work, then it’s no wonder you keep craft projects close at hand! Beautiful!

I didn’t know you worked at the Grand Canyon, either – what a need job. (It’s probably a very hot job, too, though, right?)
