Owen Had A Good Night

Seth and I went to the hospital last night to sit with Owen for a while. He is still listed in critical but stable condition, and is still completely sedated, but all his vital signs looked really good last night. There were no “brown blips” on the ventilator monitor, which means he was breathing on his own.

When we arrived, the night nurse was playing an Adele CD for him, and he was wiggling his feet in time with the music. Seeing that was very encouraging for me. We stayed for a couple of hours, and once my son was satisfied that Owen was comfortable and not getting worse, we came back home.

When we got up this morning and called to check, they said he did not have a fever during the night, and they were going to reduce the amount of oxygen to see how he does on his own. Thank you all for your continued prayers and thoughts. It really means a lot to our family.

So glad to hear he’s holding his own and even improving some already! Kids rebound so quickly that by next week he’ll be his typical little boy self again; or at least that’s my prayer <3

Thank you for taking the time to keep us all updated on Owens’ condition. I definately know how tiring and stressful this is on the entire family. I continue to pray for you all. That ‘foot wiggling to the music’ is wonderful news to hear….

    Karen,
After I corresponded with you about the coincidence of our grandsons names and quilt designs being similar I discovered that your Owen is in the hospital.
That can scare you to death. I’m glad to hear that he is improving and may even be out of danger by now.
I lost my wife about a year and half ago and the year before she died I remember being in the hospital with her fighting MRSA and then the long healing process she had with a wound that got the infection. It was a tough time and very scary.
I hope that Owen and his family can get back to living their life in a more routine way.
    Bless you and your family.

Good news! Still praying and looking forward to updates.

My youngest daughter is scheduled for a tonsillectomy Wednesday. She’s 26 and the whole thing really scares me as they say it’s a much more serious procedure on adults. Owen’s situation proves it’s serious at ANY age…but his improved prognosis makes me feel a little better about it all.

Continued prayers and wishes for rapid recovery to you all!
