How This Old Lady Starts Her Day

A good gluten free breakfast

So not the best photo in the world, but I wanted to talk about gluten free breakfast. This is how I start my day most every day:

Bacon or sausage, that I have read the label and determined that it is gluten free. Today I cooked the bacon in the microwave and probably will never fry bacon again, ever.

2 eggs, either fried or scrambled. Either way, I still eat eggs every day. I don’t have high cholesterol, and I have been eating eggs all my life. I won’t be scared away from them now that I am almost 60.

2 slices of toasted gluten free bread. Today it was Rudi’s Gluten Free Raisin Bread. Spread with BUTTER, not margarine or other yellow stuff.

A glass of what I lovingly call Tangalax–my Tang mixed with Miralax. If you don’t know what Miralax is, look it up. Otherwise, you know that Miralax makes water feel “thick” so I solved that aspect by mixing it with Tang. Yummy!

A probiotic capsule, a multiple vitamin, and an Omega 3 fish oil capsule. And that completes my ever so  yummy gluten free breakfast. And I feel like a champ for the rest of the day. Ha!

We do eggs, too, because we love them and our cholesterol isn’t high. But if you microwave your bacon, where do you get the grease to fry your eggs?

I love, love, love Rudi’s gluten free raisin bread!
My cholesterol is a tad high. Luckily, my HDL is high so I’m not at high risk for cardiac disease but I would not chance eating eggs on a daily basis…..might push the cholesterol over the edge!
This morning I had a gluten free frozen waffle, topped with fresh blueberries and Agave Maple syrup .
