Not everywhere you go is interesting. Some places are boring, no matter how much you try to convince yourself that they are not. Today we were in the Texas panhandle east of Amarillo. It is flat. Very flat. See:

So as you get bored you start taking pictures of anything that ISN’T flat:

And then you have silly conversations with your mate:
When you get to your destination and go out to dinner, though, it is soooo worth it:

And after dinner, when you get back to the campground, you see the most interesting thing of the day: a portable horse corral and a horse camping next door to you!

And THAT makes driving through Texas worth it!
We spent 12 yrs in Clovis, NM — on the TX/NM border — so we’ve seen that flat a lot. One thing I always heard — you don’t have to look up to see the sky…it’s always in front of you! Enjoy & be safe!
I find most of TX to be boring. But camping next to a horse could be interesting. Yet I prefer our view for the next few days of the towering red sandstone cliffs.
And the dinner looked outstanding!
Now I want steak…Thanks Karen…LOL!!!
Flat flat…it is for sure! Glad you amused yourselves..hee hee Nice horsey neighbor!
