Wordless Wednesday: The Storm

Desert Storm, for real!

A summer thunderstorm at Marble Canyon produced some weird clouds.

Stormy skies lasted for miles.

Once we turned onto Hwy 89 South, we were headed right towards the storm!

When the rain came, it poured!

Soon the rain stopped...

And we were rewarded with a beautiful rainbow in the painted desert.

The sun came out not long after.

and the next day, the sky was absolutely beautiful!

Wow. We see storms come over the mountain here but seeing them come across flat land is a different view for sure! We always have the hope the mountain will break the storm up. You don’t get that for sure!

We miss the storms out west…these back east are not fun to watch…just scary!

Great pictures! The first one looked like the pictures of that massive sand storm that hit Phoenix last wee! Incredible. What a strange summer this has been. We’re in Newport, Washington and it’s 58 (at 10:30 a.m.), with a high 75 expected. Our kids in Houston, Texas wish it was this cool…
