We’re Gonna Sleep Good Tonight!

We bought the RV we live in four years ago in December. If you have ever slept in an RV, you know that the standard mattress that comes with it is not so comfortable. We have talked about getting a new one for a couple of years, but just never did.

Last week when we were in Tuscaloosa, we stopped in a mattress store to talk about getting one. They said they could make one to order to fit our bed. You see, RV mattresses don’t come in standard bed sizes. I think they pull the measurements out of their butt for them. I have two sets of sheets–a king size one that is too big, and a queen size one that is too small.  Whenever I make up the bed,  I am either tucking in several inches on all 4 sides of the fitted sheet, or struggling to stretch it to just barely fit. While the new bed won’t solve that problem, it will be more comfortable.

It is going to be delivered today. Which means I have to move my sewing table. Which means I have to move the sewing machine, the sewing supplies, and the flower girl dress I am still working on. Then, after we get the old mattress out, and the new one in, I have to move it all back again. I am not looking forward to all that work. But I am gonna sleep good tonight.

All right! I’m still struggling with this mattress. Just haven’t decided to spend the $$$ to replace it. Thank goodness ours is a standard sized Queen. Sleep well.

I love getting a new bed or mattress. It has been about 6 years but I remember how excited I was the first night I slept on it.

So how’d you sleep last night, Karen? The mattress in our camper is a short queen. I’ve got two different mattress toppers on it to make it halfway comfy. I’d like to replace it, but the CDR comes first!
