This photo was taken at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon on the Uncle Jim Trail in June 2008. You can see the charred tree trunks from a forest fire that burned all the way to the edge of the canyon, and the San Francisco Peaks near Flagstaff, Arizona in the distance.

Oh I love mountains and mountain trials, Karen. I always "live" in your majestic mountains through your posts.
I don't remember seeing this char when I hiked that last year.
Great capture.
I used think about applying for seasonal jobs with the National Park Service while I was working, but since I've retired I'd not given it a thought. The Grand Canyon is such a beautiful place … the North Rim especially so. I recall hearing about that fire. Thanks so much for visiting my OC Fair photos at Happily Retired Gal ;–)
Hugs and blessings,
Thank you for visiting, You lead such an interesting lifestyle. I don't think my husband will want to do that.
My sister in law is gluten intolerant too. My daughter is dairy and egg intolerant. I try to spread the message to young mums. The other day, this boy was so irritable and crying all the time, through our conversation, the mum said the Grand dad is gluten intolerant. I told her. may be her boy is too.
So scenic. I'd love to see more views of the Grand Canyon, Karen.
