We had a really good week this week. We spent a lot of money on groceries, because I cooked the Thanksgiving dinner for us and our friends, Charlie and Lynda. We had roasted chicken, squash casserole, sweet potato souffle, steamed green beans, and cranberry jello salad. It was all good.

We ate out at Cracker Barrel twice for breakfast, at the Chinese restaurant once for lunch, and at a Mexican place for lunch once. We also worked at the Christmas tree lot every day starting on Thanksgiving day.

At the end of the week, we had $59.99 left from our $300. The best week so far. FabGrandpa also had about $8.00 in tips from loading trees on people’s cars, and I sold one apron for $25. Not a bad week at all.

With last week’s ending total, we are now under budget by $85.94. Yay!

What are you going to do with all that stash you are accumulating? Your budget is working out well.

Looks like this idea is working well for you. It may catch on – imagine if we all learned to live within our means. What a concept! Congratulations!

Fantastic! I had a friend who would pay an extra $5 or $10 dollars a month on a utility bill. She said she never noticed the difference on a monthly basis, but she timed it so that by the month of December rolled around, she had one bill with enough credit that is wasn’t neccessary to pay that month. It was her way of paying for her Christmas gifts without going into debt, as she now had the extra in her pocket. I know a few times she was able to do this with more than one bill, so a huge stress relief that month! I haven’t timed for the same reason, but what a great idea, and what a great feeling to get a zero balance owing!

Dee: I take out less money the next week, so instead of taking $300 out of the bank, we only take out $240. We still have a total of $300 in our pocket, but took less out of the bank.
