You know how I told you that I cooked all day on my day off so we could just come home, heat something up for dinner and all that? Well, damn it, my refrigerator has quit working, just like that! So, I called Norcold, the manufacturer, and talked to them yesterday, and found out it is still under warranty, until December 20, and they gave me about 6 phone numbers for authorized repair places in Page (125 miles away) and Flagstaff (220 miles away).
But guess what? NONE OF THOSE PLACES “are working on refrigerators at this time”. WTF??? What that means is “Lady, do you know we are located in the DESERT of ARIZONA and there are people, little old ladies, who have no AIR CONDITIONING, and they are by far more important (read more lucrative, more $$$) than whether or not you and your husband have food?”
Ok, so we what we have decided to do is to go to Page and get a small refrigerator at Wal-Mart, and put it where we now have a chair in the living area of our trailer, and put the chair in the bedroom of our trailer where we now have the laundry basket, and use the real refrigerator as a bookshelf until we get to Phoenix in October. And maybe someone at an “Authorized Repair” place in Phoenix will actually have the time to make the repair before the warranty runs out. And if they don’t, then I will call Norcold again and ask them what they suggest we do.
OK, so maybe I feel better now that I have gotten this off my chest. Thanks for listening.

Karen, OMG! I truly feel your pain! Our water won’t heat (something with the pilot light??) so we are w/o hot water for a while. Granted, not as bad as fridge being out. Good luck……..and you can vent all you want!

Thanks for commenting at my site! I am returning the visit. That really stinks about your fridge. I have some horror stories about my fridge but I love it now. My advice is make sure you document when you have talked to people and take names with those dates because you don’t want to allow the warranty to run out without it being well known that you have contacted them way ahead of time and they just didn’t get around to it yet.

That’s frustrating how selfish those repair places are. I’m sure by December they’d be begging for work. Hopefully you got a good deal on a small fridge with all the back to school sales going on.

OMG! I can’t believe you are having to deal with this kind of service. That really stinks. I know that being on a gluten free diet you have to be prepared at all times with safe food. Well, on the bright side, you know have a new book shelf!

That sucks. What ever happened to customer service?

I am so sorry to hear you are going through all that trouble!
I am visiting from Nikki’s blog and I’ll be back. For two reasons:
Living in a travel trailer sounds interesting.
You are gluten-intolerant….and so is my husband and daughter. I like meeting new people that have the same dietary concerns. 🙂

Oh my goodness… being without a fridge is not a good thing! I would call them back and demand they get you a new one shipped out since you can’t get anyone to work on yours.

Wow, that is terrible customer service isn’t it? Bit like trying to find an electrician here in Oz with the housing boom. We want 2 power points done, been waiting almost 2 years!
