I was awake most of the night last night, listening to the thunder roll through the forest. The rain poured down and the lightening flickered on and off. I have to admit I am a scaredy cat when it comes to weather. Being in Alabama doesn’t help that fear much. And then I heard a tree fall out there in the woods! Yikes!
But, after the storm left the area, today was quite beautiful for mid January. And then, at sunset, I looked out the window:
I love fog, when I don’t have to drive in it. It has such a surreal look to it. I remember the first time can remember seeing fog, I was just a little girl, maybe four years old. I was afraid of it, as it seemed to slink into our back yard from the river.
I walked down to the edge of the lake. These photos aren’t really blurry, it’s just the fog.
You can almost hear the Headless Horseman riding through the woods!

Hooray for you — Congratulations on the move! I have been thinking about something like this, but I’m too chicken and too lazy. (What I want to do is get rid of the “travelingrainvilles” and just be all on one page called “FullTime-LIfe.” Maybe someday I will get motivated — you’re a good example.
Sallie, it has been “mostly” easy. There are some things that I am having a hard time with, but it is just a matter of trial and error, doing one thing at a time until it looks like I want it to look. The WordPress software has an import feature to bring all your old posts over from your old blog with just a click or two. It’s the clean-up of categories after that is completed that takes forever! Thanks for coming by!
I like your new site. Can you make the pictures larger? Even if you click on them they are small. The Payne Lake picture is a good size. My great great great Uncle is Washington Irving.
Marilyn, thank you for the suggestion. I am working on it. You know I love pictures in my posts, so this has got to be improved.
The pictures show the pixels. Not sure why as the ones you imported look fine. The lake one is wonderful. You have done a wonderful job on the site. Not sure I would have the patience to do it. You might look and see if Chris has a video that could help you. (Geeks on Tour) If you have a subscription with them you could e-mail her and she might be able to help you. Hang in you are doing a great job.
Karen, You asked for comments and I have one. Is there a way to have the pictures appear larger in the post without having to click on them? Having to click separately to view pics has always been one of my pet peeves. 🙂 I guess it’s because I like to “take in” the pictures while I’m reading the text.
Otherwise, what a re-organization this is! I will have to get used to it, but you can bet I won’t miss a post.
Judy, I am working on it! Thanks for the feedback.
I liked your previous blog much better than this one. The new one is cluttered and busy where the original one was clean and easy to follow. Just my opinion. 🙂
Sam, I agree! I am still working on it to try to get it to look more like the other one. Thanks for coming by.
I like this blog better, actually. I agree larger pictures would be great, I haven’t figured that one out yet on my blog, but I love the organization you have done to it. When I go to a new blog I love to search through it and all the categories at top make it so easy to find posts on subjects I might be interested in. Welcome to WordPress!
