When I first moved into my apartment building, I was so excited to get my own living space! I signed up for a one bedroom apartment on the fourth floor, with a beautiful view of the parking lot and a bathtub instead of a walk in shower that I quickly found out that I not just wanted, but needed. I happily put up my wall decor and decorated my new apartment. Due to a disability, it turns out that I am not able to get into and out of a bathtub without a lot of pain and the fear that I am going to fall every time. Luckily, after two years of living here, I learned that I could ask for an ADA Accommodation and be allowed to move to a different apartment that met my needs.
After over a year of waiting for an apartment that met my needs to become available, it was finally time to move. I took my time packing things up, taking down the wall décor and packing it up in boxes to be moved. I put out a call on our apartment community Facebook Page for people who had grocery carts and wagons to join me in a wagon train. I offered to provide lunch and sodas, and door prizes, in exchange for a fun time helping me move. I had 13 people show up to help me. We moved all of the boxes and small things so that I only had to pay the movers to move my furniture. It was a fun time, too, and I made a couple of new friends in the process.
That happened during the last week of April and first week of May. I got everything moved from the fourth floor apartment and across the parking lot to the first floor, two bedroom apartment with a walk in shower that is so easy for me to use. But oh, my goodness! It is already almost the end of September and I still have not unpacked everything. Don’t even think that I have hung anything up on the walls. Yes, I have a large, two bedroom apartment, with no wall decorations up at all.

For one thing, this apartment is bigger and has more wall space, so I don’t even have enough things to put up. I’ve been looking at this art mural online and thinking it would make a beautiful “headboard” for my bed. I love the canyon design. It makes me feel like I’m back at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. And because they are reasonably priced, I could change up the look every season if I wanted to.

And, just because I have always had a love affair with flamingos, I love this wallpaper. It would be awesome in my bedroom or in my bathroom! These removable wallpaper for renters are so fun. The only thing is it is just so hard to decide which one to get. Which one would you choose if it was your apartment?
