Have you ever thought about panning for gold? I have, especially when we have camped in the mountains of North Georgia, where gold was discovered before the gold rush in California in 1849. I never did it though, because I did not have the equipment I needed. So, when I was asked to review the Official Gold Rush Gold Panning Kit, I was so excited to take a look at it. Since I am not able to get down on my knees to actually pan for gold, I decided to give the kit to my grandson, Spencer, and his Dad.
My son-in-law, Thomas, buys gold, so I thought it would a nice gift for him and Spencer to use together. It was a big hit with both of them. Thomas had the kit opened up reading the instructions and showing how to do it with Spencer before I left to go home. Inside each Gold Rush Panning Kit is a professional gold pan, a snuffer bottle for retrieving the gold from the dirt, a vial to store the gold, and of course, the company’s gold guaranteed “pay dirt.” Some of the bags of “pay dirt” contain up to $500 in gold! The kit will even include a certificate of authenticity for the gold!
They have not told me whether or not their bag of “pay dirt” has paid off in any gold dust or nuggets, but I am very sure they have had fun playing with the kit. When they have used up the bag of dirt that came with the kit, they will have the equipment forever to go panning whenever they visit the mountains again.

Living in Montana, there are many places in this state to go gold panning. I have an eight year old daughter that I would love to give this to so that she and I can go gold panning together.
