I know I talked a little bit about the fondue party a day or so ago, but I have to tell you, that was one the most fun parties I have ever had! It is amazing how a little chocolate can change the course of the day, make you laugh, and get the conversation flowing.
Here’s some pics of me and the girls enjoying that dark chocolate fondue:

To make the fondue, I used 1/2 cup of 2% milk and 8 ounces of sweet dark chocolate. Bring the milk to just boiling in a saucepan over medium heat. Break the chocolate into small pieces and add to the saucepan. Stir continuously until all the chocolate is melted and well blended with the milk. Pour into the fondue dish, and light the candle underneath. Keep the candle burning during the party so that the fondue stays liquid and does not set up. (the recipe I had called for 1/2 cup of sweet heavy cream, but hey, I live at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, the true center of nowhere, and there was none of that up here. The milk worked just fine.)
For dipping in the fondue, we had fresh whole strawberries, fresh pineapple cut into small wedges, a gluten free cake cut into cubes, gluten free pretzel sticks, and gluten free vanilla arrowroot cookies. Even the non-gluten free girls loved all the things we had. There is no limit to the things you can set out for dipping–I wish we had had some marshmallows!

Loved it! Could do it again any time. Maybe I’ll get a chance when I win that starter package. Thanks again for having us over. I laughed so hard my stomach hurt.
Looks yummy and fun!!
