Everyone loves to eat, and travelers are no exception. If you happen to be traveling to or through Ann Arbor, you’ll want to look for a one of the best places to eat. Here are five I would recommend.
Zingerman’s Deli
Zingerman’s Deli is open seven days a week, from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. Located at 422 Detroit St, at the corner of Detroit St. and Kingsley in Ann Arbor, it has been in business since 1982 in an historic building near the Ann Arbor Farmers’ Market. They serve hundreds of sandwiches a day, with ingredients from pastrami to fresh mozzarella, free range chicken to a great selection of vegetarian sandwiches. They also have gluten free choices, Jewish foods, desserts, beverages, and a children’s menu. Cost is about $20 per person. Call ahead at +1 734-663-3354.
Frita Batidos
I just love Cuban food, and Frita Batidos is one of the best! Their slogan, Cuban inspired street food, says it all. You’ll find an inspired Cuban sandwich, made with savory roast pork loin, thick-cut bacon, tasso ham, Comté, cornichons & chipotle mayo on Cuban bread. Sides include choices of Crisped Plantains, Shoestring Potatoes, Coconut Rice, or Light Bright Salad. Then of course, there are the Batidos, or tropical milkshakes. Made with crushed ice, fresh fruit, and Guernsey Dairy vanilla bean ice cream. There are several flavors available such as Fresh Lime, Hibiscus, and Passion Fruit. There’s more on the menu, so check it out for yourself. They are open Sunday – Wednesday 11am – 11pm and Thursday – Saturday 11am – Midnight. Located at 117 W. Washington, Ann Arbor, MI 48104. Fleetwood Diner
The Fleetwood Diner is open 24 hours a day, and they serve breakfast food all day long. People say you go to Fleetwood Diner after the concert or show, but you don’t remember going. The menu has omelettes, Hippie Hash, and fried and scrambled eggs, egg sandwiches, French toast, and corned beef hash. I had never heard of Hippie Hash before. Here is what it says on the menu:
