Fabgrandpa and I had never owned a cat before Rosie The Boy Cat came into our lives. The little guy just appeared at our door back in April, and it wasn’t long before he had moved right in. While it is sad that thoughtless people drop off kittens and puppies on our country dirt road every spring, it was good that Rosie found us. We resisted his cuteness as long as we could, but he won us over, and has become the pet star of our household in record time! We thought he was a female cat, so we named “her” Rosie. But when we took her to be spayed, we found out that Rosie was a boy. So, his name changed a bit to Rosie The Boy Cat.
Rosie has become the star of our home in the short time he has been here. He does such funny things, and keeps us laughing. I take photos of him all the time, and share them on Instagram and Facebook. I have also started using photos of him to make greeting cards. It is so easy to do! Using my cutting machine and some imagination, the cards I make come out so cute! Here is how I made the last one:
I picked out a photo of Rosie, and using the Paint app, I cropped it and resized it to print out at 4.5 inches X 4.5 inches. I printed out the resized photo of Rosie on photo paper.
Next, I picked out a sheet of cardstock that measures 24 inches X 24 inches, and folded it in half twice, to make a 6 inch square card. I went to the Design Space for my cutting machine online, and chose a frame to cut. I cut the frame pieces out at 5 inches square.
Next, I decided on what I wanted the card to say. I used the cutting machine to cut out the letters for the front of the card.
I used a glue stick to glue the frame, the picture of Rosie, and the words I cut out to the front of the card.
I used MSWord to type up the wording for the inside of the card, and printed it out on regular printer paper. Then I cut out the words in a cloud shape and glued that to the inside of the card. The finished product:
Since we had never owned a cat before, we knew nothing about them, or the various products that a cat would need, so we have been learning how to take care of him from the start. We are frequent shoppers at Kroger, and check their pet aisle every time we go now. We have been thinking of changing the cat litter that we use, so this time we bought Tidy Cats® Lightweight. I have a disability that makes it hard for me to pick up heavy things. Tidy Cats® Lightweight weighs less than the other cat litters we have tried, which is a big plus for me. While it weighs less, it has the same volume as heavier litters do. It’s also the best dust free cat litter.
Tidy Cats® Lightweight Cat Litter comes in lots of varieties, so you will be able to find one that fits your needs. With 50 years of experience making cat litter, Tidy Cats® Cat Litter understands the need for low-maintenance litter box control. Tidy Cats® Lightweight knows what they are doing, and now feature TidyLock™ Protection that locks away the odors. TidyLock™ is the latest innovation in litter featured in all Tidy Cats® litter varieties.

Fabgrandpa and I are still learning about cats, and how to take good care of Rosie The Boy Cat so he will be our #MyPetStar for years to come. How often do you change the litter in your kitty’s box? Do you change every time you scoop, or do you scoop and add more and just change completely once a week?

Rosie and that card are both adorable!

We change the litter about once a week, and use a litter disposal pail to help lock away the ‘debris’ from our scooping endeavors. Your card turned out adorable, and I loved the story of Rosie the boy cat! #client

We have 6 cats so keeping up with 6 litter boxes is almost a full time job, Luckily my 16 year old has litter duty since she brought the last 3 cats home. She scoops every day and we change the litter about every two weeks and refill when needed. Rosie is adorable he looks like my old man cat Tater .

Rosie the Boy Cat has the cutest face! We have 4 cats and go through a TON of cat litter. I am always looking for ways to save on it. Thanks for the coupon!
Sadie Slays says
We clean the litter box once a week. The box gets a thorough scrub down with Dawn dish detergent, the surrounding floor gets mopped, and new litter is added to the freshly-cleaned box.
Mopping the floor, by the way, makes a huge difference in reducing litter dust issues. My sinuses go nuts if we put off litter box duty for a day or two.

Your cat is adorable and you are so crafty with that card! I will recommend this to my friends with cats!

Rosie The Boy Cat is a real cutie, and I love it when you post pictures of him–he’s very photogenic. The card you made came out great, and the picture you chose for it is perfect. I’m so glad you and FabGrandpa decided to keep him, and from the looks of it, he’s pretty happy with your decision, too.
I haven’t used the lightweight litter yet, mainly because it costs more, but you’re making it very tempting to give it a try.
Karen says
Actually, this did not cost any more than the other brands that were full weight.
