A couple of weeks ago, we had some record “low high” temperatures here in Georgia. For about a four days, the temps didn’t get over about 70 degrees! That is very unusual for August here, but it has made me really wish for those daytime temperatures to come back. I was thinking I would need to buy a new jacket already! It was a bit too chilly for shorts on those days.
Then I looked at the Weather Channel website for the coming week, and it is going to be over 90 degrees every day again. I don’t think I can take the heat much longer. The trees in our yard are already starting to turn fall colors, with some leaves already falling. Fabgrandpa is talking about getting a leaf blower or a bagger for the Cub Cadet, but he can’t make up his mind which one he wants to get.
I know September is usually when the weather starts cooling off, so maybe this hot spell we are fixing to get will be the last of the summer season. I really love the crisp mornings of Fall, sitting outside on the porch with a cup of coffee.
What is your favorite time of year? Are you ready for the seasons to change like I am?

I just noticed falling leaves in my yard today. I wonder if this is going to be a brutal winter.
I love crisp falls mornings, too. Best time – ever.

Holy cow! Its been hot here in Chicago too. With the humidity like none other. Its been 92 with a real feel of 101! Ugh!

No!! Not winter already. I am not ready for the season to change, I am having too much fun this summer and I don’t want it to end but its inevitable.

The weather has been crazy here! I think I saw something about only two sunny days in July 🙁 I feel like we really didn’t get a summer but I’m excited for the fall weather nonetheless.

Guh, we melt at around 85 around here! We have had next to no summer so I’ve been happy with the warm trend. I actually like spring best but the seasons have all been wacky so it’s hard to tell the weather even from day to day.

I live near Baily, Colorado at an elevation of 8,500 feet. It’s a real rarity to get any really hot weather here. Of course the trade off is we get winter for about seven months a year. However, it’s beautiful here and I can’t think of anywhere else I would rather be.

Just starting to notice subtle change of colors on the rim. But I’d rather follow perpetual summer.

Fall is my favorite. We just spent a week in the mountains in New Mexico trying to escape the brutal heat of Texas. But I do think the changing of the seasons supplies a basic human need. If it weren’t for the weather, what would we talk about?
