When we got lost coming home from the in-laws last month, we also stopped at the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Chatsworth, Georgia. They didn’t have a real big selection, but I did find one thing that I liked enough to bring home.
I have been looking for something similar to this letter holder to hang on the wall. I don’t know why I wanted one, but I did. I found this one for $3.99. Right now it is hanging on the wall in the laundry room. I am thinking I may put it in my office and put greeting cards in it, sorted by month for three months at a time. Just pick out the ones for this month, mail them out, and move the next ones up. What do you think of that idea? OR, I could use it to save coupons. Hmmmmmm……
What would you do with something like this?

I’ve actually been looking for one of those for 3 years! I come home with all kinds of paper from various venues. Right now I have a couple of boxes on my counter that I’d really like to get rid of but you never see any of those up here anymore.

We always had one of these on the wall when I was a kid! I have thought about getting one and painting it a pretty color to hold letters and school stuff for the kids. They are handy! Nice find!

I would use it for all of the letters that end up sitting all over my desk! I need something just like this!!

I remember having a letter holder that looked almost just like that when I was younger!

Nice to find a pretty wooden letter holder. I like it and think both ideas are great for storing cards &/or coupons.

I have one of these I purchased in an antique shop many years ago. It;s very similar looking to yours, and we had one when I was growing up, and I needed one as well.
We have it hanging in the “pass thru” space between the kitchen and dining area. It’s a window size opening and tends to be where things get tossed down on the counter top, and I wanted to clean up the clutter.
We put 3 cup size hooks on the bottom which hold car keys, and spare house keys
In the bottom holder, we have an envelope that holds all the receipts from that month’s groceries, dry cleaning, gas receipts, etc. We change out that envelope every month. It just keeps those things all in one place and much neater than scattered in crazy locations all around the house.
The second holder is the bills that just came in the mail and need to be sorted, etc.
The top holder is for bills/payments/greeting cards, etc. that need to be mailed that week, and they are sorted by mailing date.
Maybe that will be of some help.
I enjoy your blog a lot but haven’t commented until now. I live in Savannah GA, and am originally from Madison, WI. So I guess I have a connection 🙂

I like Goldie’s suggestion. Depends on how much it holds.
