Grandma’s Gift Guide: Stocking Stuffers

Saturday Stocking Stuffers!

Stocking stuffers are always fun to get–not big presents wrapped and placed under the tree, but something small that you know someone will appreciate.

I have two suggestions for stocking stuffers today, a couple a little books that would be fun reading for Grandma.

Girlfriends Forever

Girlfriends Forever by Reeda Joseph is a collection of vintage prints with funny sayings, such as “I can barely breathe in this dress…but I look Fabulous!” and “I started to act real sweet toward Grandma when I learned what the word “inheritance” meant. Girlfriends Forever: We’ve Got Each Other’s Back retails for $14.95 and can be found at

How To Be The Perfect Grandmother

How To Be The Perfect Grandma by Bryna Nelson Paston is a book of advice on how to be a grandma. Witty and fun, it is full of good tips like “Listen politely, then do what you want”, “Grandma’s house should always be stocked with good stuff”, and “Always remember that you are always in competition with the other grandmother.”  Paston tells the stories behind the tips in a humorous way. How to Be the Perfect Grandma retails for $9.99 at

About Karen

Karen Eidson is telling the world way too much about her, whether they want to know it or not. She writes about her life of living full time in an RV, eating a gluten free diet, things she does for fun, and things that are important to her. She makes you look at photos of her grandchildren, talk about her husband's survival of oral cancer, and shows you things she has made. You know you want to look.

  1. These sound funny and fun. Grandma could leave it the bathroom where that door lock sticks once in a while.

  2. Cute! My son assures us we will never be grandmothers, but I consider those to be famous last words.

  4. relax & enjoy! don’t hover!

  5. Sunshine G says:

    Offer to babysit!

  6. These books look cute! I wish I had advice but since I will be a grandma for the first time in about 2 weeks, I’m the one who needs it! I say spoil the grandchildren1

  7. Don’t act like you are raising the child, just enjoy being a grandparent

  8. i love your site…

  9. To be caring, kind and set an incredible example by being the light you want to see in the world. That’s what my grandmothers embody.

  10. Enjoy them while you can!

  11. My advice would be to love, love, love them grand babies! Love them just like you did your own and you can’t go wrong.

I may only be 35 but I am only a couple of years away from being a grandma or at least I hope I have a couple of years yet with my kids being 19 and almost 17 and then my fiance wants more kids so they would be around well my grand kids age.

  19. Hello, I am a Grandmother of 5. And I LOVE them dearly and unconditionally, (my Children also of course that goes without saying). They range in age from 13 down to 2 years old. I am so blessed that they didn’t move away. They all live in the same area which is fantastic. And I would love to receive that book How to be the perfect Gramma but I also think that there is now way to be perfect. Just be yourself and enjoy the time that you have with them and teach and talk to them about everything that you can. Just maybe some of your wisdom will rub off on to them. But let their parents raise them. You can only offer advise if you can. And remember to hug and kiss them and tell them that you love them every time you see or talk to them. 🙂
