We have been plodding along, very slowly, towards getting moved into the house. All the planning we did over the last couple of years towards the goal of living in a house again “someday” have come together, if not perfectly, then close to it.
Although I am still not able to do much, our neighbors have been so helpful. Jill came over one day last week, and I told her what to move where. She did all the picking up and moving of “stuff”, putting in the right rooms, and even putting some things away where they go. It was exhausting for me just to walk back and forth between the trailer and the house, but we got about half of our things moved that one day.
Right now, we are to the point of just waiting for our bed to be delivered so we can move the rest of the way in. There doesn’t seem to us to be any point of moving the cooking stuff and coffee pot over to the house until we can sleep there. So, like I said, we wait. The lady from Sears said that all the iComfort mattresses are made to order, so they are just waiting for the factory to let them know it is ready.
Fabgrandpa has been busy putting furniture together (an entertainment center and a book shelf), putting up curtain rods, cleaning windows, and weatherstripping the doors and windows. I got him to move the sewing machine onto my desk for me and finally managed to get four panels made for the living room windows. I’m still not sure I like them, but I made do with fabric I already had on hand. I am thinking they need to have some sheers or blinds behind them. What do you think?

Girl. . .I’m a fabric nut. . .so I probably would have made them all the way to the ceiling, and all the way across that wall.
I think you would like them better if that wall was painted the creamy gold color that is in the fabric. . .but that’s just me. . .the fabric is lovely! Very Victorian. . .

Ties? I’ve seen a (1) tie for each one; (2) tie-backs; (3) tie in the middle…

Sheers are always nice…I prefer to use them anyplace that is not too private…I prefer to not have people looking in, unless I am looking out at them!! Ha!! They are pretty…looks like you did a good job.

I like the curtain fabric. Hope that bed gets built, and delivered, soon.

I think they’re pretty! Add some sheers and tie backs and they will really look great! I’m glad you are starting to get settled!

Love the material. I am a window/light person so I would extend the curtains on both sides to have more of the window show then use sheers behind the window part. Tie backs on both sides would be ok or just hanging streight. Wider with more window showing will lighten your room and make it look bigger. That is just IMHO. So glad you are making progress on moving in. Still sending prayers for you complete recovery.
