Fabgrandpa and I have been shopping for things for the house this week. We are just about done for the moment, having made some major purchases, but there is still a lot to do yet.
We got a gas stove and a refrigerator:
The gas man came today and connected the stove, so now I am “cooking with gas”! This stove has four regular burners, plus a “griddle in the middle”, so I can grill steaks, chops, fish fillets, whatever I want to cook with less fat used in cooking. I can not wait to start using it. The oven also has a glass in the door so I can see what I am cooking, with a light inside the oven. I know those things are pretty standard, but you have to remember, I have been cooking in an RV oven for 13 years. This thing is huge! I’m going to get a ham next week and bake it just because I can.
And OMG! Look at the size of that refrigerator! It has an ice maker in it! I haven’t had ice in my refrigerator for 13 years! I can put the entire RV refrigerator in this thing and have room to spare! Love it!
We got this beautiful side chair for the living room. It doesn’t look as red here as it does in real life–it is more of a burgundy with a creamy print. The sofa is a double recliner, it reclines on both ends. It’s a chocolate brown leather look, and soooo comfortable. I told Fabgrandpa I might come over here and sleep in the recliner one night.
We also got an office chair and a file cabinet for the office so I can get in here and get organized. All that paper pile up everywhere is driving me crazy. Fabgrandpa put my chair together for me today, so I now have a place to sit and get things done.
Getting the file cabinet means more work for me, doing all that filing, but it has to be done so I will know where everything is.
The next thing I need to work on is painting the office/sewing room, and making some new curtains for it. I also need to make a space for sewing. That is going to happen real soon. I need to sew!

It’s coming together. Love those hardwood floors. Bet you’ll find some awesome old rugs at a thrift store.
Agree with Sandy above.
