Things I Saw Today At The North Rim Of The Grand Canyon

Sunrise in my back yard this morning.

While I absolutely HATE getting up so early, being able to see a gorgeous sunrise helps take the sting out of it. The transept canyon at sunrise is beautiful!

The aspens are past their peak, but these don’t seem to know it.

I headed out to the entrance station, and these aspens tried to wake me up with color.

I was surprised to see the beefalo out in the meadow this morning.

The beefalo are usually on their way down to the desert around House Rock Valley by now. These guys were right at the side of the road this morning.

This guy looked mean and ornery!

This big bull looked like he was ready to charge at the car! He kept watching me as I drove by slowly.

There were dozens of Mule Deer out this morning too.

It is rare for me to see Mule Deer so close to the entrance station, but this morning there were a couple dozen of them.

The moon was out in early morning, hanging out with the aspens.

The moon was still out early in the morning. I love seeing it up there among the aspens.

Arizona Hwy 67 headed north out of the Grand Canyon National Park.

It is only about 12 more days before we’ll be driving up that road with our trailer, headed to Georgia.

Playing with the “selected color” option on my new camera.

Somehow when I ordered a new camera for my Grandson’s birthday, I got one too. It wasn’t intentional. I was surprised when it was delivered. It is a Nikon Coolpix S3300 and it does some pretty interesting things. Like only showing the color yellow in a black and white photo.

headed home at the end of my shift.

The aspens glowing yellow among the green fir trees along Hwy 67.

Aspens near the administrative office. Brilliant!

And so ended my work day. Only 8 more to go!
