I’m not back completely yet but getting closer.I’ll be dischrged from the hospital on Tuesday and will be soooo glad to go home!
I’ll be writing some more about my illness and hospital stay next week, including adding a section about living with a colostomy and how to make sure that as older couples you prepare yourself for a medical disaster and make sure each member of the couple knows how and where to pay the bills if something happens.
My sweet husband,Fabgrandpa, has been so lost during the last month and I have felt so bad about that.
Thank you all so much for your continued support, prayers cards, letters, and comments. Every one has been appreciated so much.

Thrilled that you are okay! I’m eager to learn more. Give FabGrandpa a hug for me. I know he needs it!

Karen,
I’m VERY glad that you are getting to go home and I’m glad that you will be adding the section on how to pay the bills and such when something happens to one part of the couple or both (God forbid). I have had a plan in place for quite some time now in the event something shold happen to me so that Alan (or Stefanie) could continue running things. I’m sure that there are a LOT of folks also who would welcome the insight that you will give on having a Colostomy. As you know, I helped our Mother with hers when she first had hers and even though it can be devistating for the person that has it, there are a lot of “helps” out there to ease the fear and to educate on the in’s & out’s, do’s & don’ts. I have found over the years in talking to people that there are a LOT of people, young & old from every walk of life that have them. Some can be reversed, some can’t. Kudos to you for wanting to share this experience. I love you….I hope you get better with each new day. Please call me and let me know what your plan is for going home & after care. Your Seester

I’m so sorry you’ve been sick. My 41 year old daughter needs a colostomy (she is bowel incontinent). She is afraid to do it. I would appreciate any info you can give on your website about living with a colostomy.
I LOVE your blog!!!!
