When we worked in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania a few years back, we went on a tour of haunted places around town one night. While I didn’t experience any of the ghosts firsthand that night, it was a pretty interesting tour. I learned a little bit about the history of the town and saw some places I wouldn’t have seen otherwise.
Here are some famous haunted places around the country where you can take a tour and look for spirits and Ghosts:
1. Ghosts of Atlanta Walking TourĀ Starting at $14.95 and up, you can take this tour of haunted schools, theaters, and the scene of a deadly hotel fire. The 90 minute tour starts at 8:30 p.m. nightly from March through mid-December, so it’s not too late to go this year.
2. Chicago Ghost ToursĀ Chicago has plenty of ghost stories, from the Great Chicago Fire, to Gangsters, and present day. I’m just hoping the ghosts from the cemetery next door don’t come to tour us.

Since ghost tours have become so popular, I think almost every urban area has at least one. I live between Houston and Galveston, and both have ghost tours. I haven’t taken any in my area yet, but I’d like to take one in New Orleans. Its history is so fascinating, and the city has wonderful historic cemeteries.

I keep meaning to go to the Halloween walk/presentations at the Bannack Ghost Town down in Beaverhead County. Bannack was the first territorial capitol of Montana and is incredibly well preserved, (thx Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks)..
There is a legend about vigilantes, etc. I am sure it would be spooky.

I don’t think I’d like a ghost tour, but I haven’t ever tried one.
