It’s not the invasion of the body snatchers, or the pod people–just some ladybug beetles. And yeah, they are soooo cute–unless you suddenly have a couple hundred of them in your house.
While they may be cute on little girl’s dresses, they are still bugs crawling around in my home, and I don’t like them at all!
There seems to be millions of them swarming around outside our trailer, creeping around looking for a tiny space to get inside. Some of them made it in, I have no idea where or how. I spent a good part of the day, walking around inside with a plastic bag, picking them up and putting them in the bag so I could take them outside.
These ones are on the inside of the window. They are like that on all the windows. I am just so creeped out by this. I hope they are gone soon.

I always thought they were cute but i can see they are a pest in those numbers inside your home.

The price you pay for warm weather! And they bite!

OMG we had the same problem in Hiawassee,GA in Oct last year. They seem to be attracted to white. I ended up sucking them up in the vac a couple times a day they were so bad. I kept finding them for months. Every time it warmed up I would find a few. I hope they go away soon. How about the Hurricane ??? Will you be OK?

Good luck getting rid of them. The last time I had an invasion (in Minnesota) it was close to a year before I stopped finding bodies. ;(

They are looking for a place to hibernate for the winter. So they won't leave unless you remove them. The baggie idea is good and will take much time. Check out of the way dark cool corners. At least they won't eat your garlic.
A friend in WA once bottled 1000s of ladybugs and her ceiling corners where still black and red with them.
Good luck!

Hi Ksren — we have had this exact same thing happen twice! I wrote about it last fall, when we were in Missouri. Click on the category "full timing" on ours, if you want. I ended up vacuuming them up (sounds awful I know) but we really had no choice. Until we had so many I hada never noticed that these adorable little things actually stink too.
Anyway, just wanted you to know that others have shared this problem. It's too cold and damp where we are now for lady bugs (or old people, for that matter ;>)Good luck.

We had that problem a few years ago. I pulled up one evening and the whole front of the house was red!!!

Ladybug, ladybug, fly away home. . .
I must say I have never heard of this problem! We really do learn something new every day.

People pay a lot for lady bugs, as they eat aphids, and keep the gardens and crops healthy.
Shame you can't capitalize on that!

Why don't you just kill them? LOL Ya, I know they still are too cute to kill. I couldn't either.
Dee says
i'm with you Karen, they are only cute in small quantities, outside, on a leaf or something
