OMG we had the same problem in Hiawassee,GA in Oct last year. They seem to be attracted to white. I ended up sucking them up in the vac a couple times a day they were so bad. I kept finding them for months. Every time it warmed up I would find a few. I hope they go away soon. How about the Hurricane ??? Will you be OK?

Good luck getting rid of them. The last time I had an invasion (in Minnesota) it was close to a year before I stopped finding bodies. ;(

They are looking for a place to hibernate for the winter. So they won't leave unless you remove them. The baggie idea is good and will take much time. Check out of the way dark cool corners. At least they won't eat your garlic.

A friend in WA once bottled 1000s of ladybugs and her ceiling corners where still black and red with them.

    Good luck!

Hi Ksren — we have had this exact same thing happen twice! I wrote about it last fall, when we were in Missouri. Click on the category "full timing" on ours, if you want. I ended up vacuuming them up (sounds awful I know) but we really had no choice. Until we had so many I hada never noticed that these adorable little things actually stink too.

Anyway, just wanted you to know that others have shared this problem. It's too cold and damp where we are now for lady bugs (or old people, for that matter ;>)Good luck.

Ladybug, ladybug, fly away home. . .

I must say I have never heard of this problem! We really do learn something new every day.

People pay a lot for lady bugs, as they eat aphids, and keep the gardens and crops healthy.
Shame you can't capitalize on that!
